Dani Fiore’s Royal Icing

White gel-paste food coloring 

1 Hatching Bunny Cookie Cutouts 

Coarse white sanding sugar 

1 small round candy, such as an M&M 

Pastel-colored gel-paste food coloring 

Small assorted candies, such as jelly beans or bunny corn 

Preparation

Mix together some of the royal icing with white food coloring until desired shade is reached. Transfer to a small squirt bottle. Leaving a 1/4-inch border, outline the bunny shape of the sugar cookie (see step 2 of the template). Draw several zigzags across entire surface of the outlined area. If necessary, use a toothpick to spread evenly. Immediately sprinkle with sanding sugar and use a round candy to make the eye of the bunny; let dry.

Mix together some of the royal icing with pastel food coloring until desired shade is reached. Transfer to a small squirt bottle. Leaving a 1/4-inch border, outline the egg shape of the sugar cookie (see step 3 of the template). Draw several zigzags across entire surface of the outlined area. If necessary, use a toothpick to spread evenly. Add assorted candies to egg shape for decoration; let dry.
